Current owner, Kris Pinto, has been riding dressage as an adult amateur for 20+ years attaining her Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals. Kris bought Kroonfee “Faira” in 2022 as a seven-year-old Dutch Warmblood, she’s now 9 years old. The pair competed 3rd and 4th level, including at the US Dressage Finals in Kentucky.

Unfortunately in September of 2023, a simple abscess turned into a serious infection which transmigrated to her right hock and became septic. It was touch and go, but after a grueling rehab, Faira remarkably returned to full work. Then on July 2nd, Faira locked her patella ligament. Ultrasound revealed the cause to be damage to the deep digital flexor tendon just above the previously infected right hock. This is not uncommon for a neighboring tendon to become damaged due to infection.  Who knew? Ugh!

The prognosis is that the tendon will heal but Faira is unlikely to continue climbing the upper levels. Kris, committed to Faira's well-being and ethical transparency, has decided to find her a home as a brood mare and/or lower level dressage horse.
